The Vested Look
A vest is a sleeveless, waist- or hip-length garment made of various materials, with a front opening usually secured by buttons or a zipper, worn over a shirt, blouse, dress, or any other article of clothing for style or warmth. A vest is great to wear all year round. During the winter months and the spring months you can wear a vest over a turtleneck. During the summer months and early fall months you can wear a vest over a t-shirt or on its own.
A vest is a very versatile piece of clothing. A vest is versatile because it can be worn as part of a casual look or as part of a very dressed up look. Or you can wear a vest dressed down with jeans and t-shirt and trainers, loafers, ballet flats or high heels and so many other shoe options. A vest can be pretty much worn with anything except a chunky sweater and a chunky cardigan.
