The Full Set (Top & Bottom) Designer Runway Monogram Look
Monogram is defined as a design consisting of two or more alphabetic letters combined or interlaced. It is usually always initials that is embroidered on clothing.
So why am I talking about monogram, well because monogram fashion hate it or love it seems to be making a comeback and it is everywhere from the covers of the biggest fashion magazines, to street styles during fashion week and all over social media.
I don't know if you remember but back in the day (circa mid to late 90s and early 2000s) wearing monogram clothing was a thing. I remember in the 2000s sometime around there I would always notice people wearing monogram Gucci. I used to think there is no way Gucci made that. But long behold at the actual NYC flagship store there you would see the monogram Gucci jackets, pants, sweaters, shoes, hats, bags you name it Gucci monogrammed it.
But by the mid 2000s monogrammed fashions had disappeared. But now in 2018 monogram seems to be back and even bigger than before. Take a look at this Gucci Pre-fall 2018 Campaign (at 0:30 seconds). You'll notice the guy tagging(writing on) the car is wearing a complete top and bottom monogram Gucci outfit. Also if you watch the Fendi Women's Fall/Winter 2018-2019 runway show you'll notice a Fendi monogram coat (0:51-0:59); then Fendi monogram pants (4:27-4:36 and 4:42-4:49). Then my favorite a Fendi monogram off the shoulder dress (5:39-5:50). Then another favorite the navy velvet looking Fendi coat (5:52-5:59). These are just some of the monogram looks that are trending now for 2018.
So since monogram is making a comeback I thought I'd put together some designer runway monogram looks that are worth checking out. The full set (top and bottom) monogram look is not everyone's style and I'm not saying you need to go out and buy a full set monogram look but you can try out or take a look at and maybe purchase if you like the look - one monogram item is more than enough. Or you may already have a monogram piece in your wardrobe. This post is for those out there that love everything monogram or wear at least one monogram item on a regular basis.
Sometimes when monogram is overdone it can look a little bit tacky. Not everyone can really pull off the full set monogram look. So if you feel like you cannot pull off the look maybe you can wear just one monogram thing and that's all you need. Below are some full set monogram looks.
