Cancer costs are up—but there's more to the story than rising prices, report says

Fierce Pharma ----- The cost of treating cancer has increased over the past few years—there’s no denying that. But the there’s more to that increase than meets the eye. In other words? It's not just about prices.Global spending on oncology treatments and supportive care drugs hit $113 billion in 2016, up from $107 billion in 2015. And over the past five years, the total global cost of cancer meds has swelled at a constant annual growth rate of 8.7%, according to a new report from the QuintilesIMS Institute.
