Barclays press release ------ On average, it takes over five months before First Time Buyers feel like they’ve done enough to make their new house their home, with twenty-four percent saying it took over half a year. Family pictures top the list for making a property feel homely over cushions and throws. Living room, bedroom and kitchen considered the most homely rooms, and prioritized for initial home-improvements; bathrooms come fourth in order of importance. Over half of First Time Buyers are unprepared for the time and effort to make their first property purchase a home, with 37 percent saying they’ve contemplated giving up on home improvements.
