How To Guide For: Understanding Renewable Energy -- Why Is It Important And How It Affects The Econo
Renewable Energy is energy that is generated from natural processes that is repeatedly replenished. This includes sunlight, geothermal heat, wind, tides and water. This energy cannot be finished and is constantly renewed. Renewable Energy technologies span from wind power, solar power, hydroelectricity, biomass and biofuel. Renewable Energy has many benefits. One is that it can reduce our dependence on fuels and energy from foreign governments. Strong winds, heat within earth, moving water, shining sun can provide a vast and constant energy resource supply. Another benefit it has is Environmental meaning it is clean and results in little to no greenhouse and net carbon emissions. There are also economic benefits. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists in a report published May 2013 titled - How Renewable Electricity Standards Deliver Economic Benefits - The report states that the development of renewable energy resources to meet electricity demand is providing substantial economic benefits to states and communities across the United States. A key driver of this development is the state renewable electricity standard (RES). The report also states that the renewable energy industry supports clean energy jobs, promotes investments in the U.S. economy and outperforms fossil fuels. There are so many reasons why renewable energy is important and many ways that renewable energy benefits the environment, economy, businesses and all of us.
