How To Guide For: A Look At The New Tesla Solar Roof Panel & Powerwall Battery Unveiling
Yesterday Elon Musk CEO of Telsa Motors unveiled a new solar roof top panel with glass tiles and a new Powerwall 2 battery pack for homes as well as one for businesses. The rooftop panel was revealed at sunset which was the perfect time because it allowed Tesla to demonstrate the capabilities of the product. There was no definite price mentioned at yesterdays announcement. But Musk did state that the "installed cost is less than a normal roof and the cost of electricity". Tesla will sell the glass tiles directly to customers instead of working with home builders. So lets talk about the features of the new version of the Powerwall. According to Musk the two 14 kWh lithium-ion battery packs inside each pack (over double the capacity of the previous version) will power a four bedroom house with lights, refrigerator and other appliances for an entire day. Another new feature to the Powerwall is that it includes a built-in power inverter. Musk also stated that Tesla will start installing the glass tiles summer 2017. Really like the solar panel idea because it is very beneficial to the environment. Very curious about what the pricing will be for homes and especially office buildings. But I am still very much looking forward to when the first one will be installed summer 2017.
