According to the United States Census Bureau report released 2013, the report stated that 53 percentage of unmarried U.S. residents 18 and older were women in 2013 while 47 percentage were men. Also another report from the United States Census Bureau stated that 36 percentage of women 15 to 50 with a birth in the last 12 months, as of 2012, were widowed, divorced or never married. Also not to mention the fact that women are living 5-10 years longer than men. So with these statistics it's looking like more and more women will be single when they reach retirement. So what can women do. Well for starters a Financial Advisor or a Financial Planner would be a good start because we as women all need to know how to manage our money and take care of ourselves just in case you're ever alone. Women in this stage of life and who are almost at the retirement stage need to make sure that they have their long term care in place. What this means is make sure all your insurance is in place and medical related needs are setup. The most important thing is having a support system whether it be family or friends or both. The reason for this post is because we can't be young forever and we will all have to deal with retirement one day.
