How To Guide For: A Look At The Reopening Of The World Trade Center Mall In Downtown Manhattan
Yesterday after work I decided to go and check out the reopening of the World Trade Center Mall in downtown Manhattan. I actually went to check out Eatly which is an Italian eatery (I love the Eatly in the Flatiron district in Manhattan), so I just had to check out their new location. So I figured while I was there why not check out the entire mall. It stretches along four-blocks underground and is a huge mass-transit hub in Lower Manhattan which connects Port Authority Trans-Hudson trains from New Jersey with New York’s subways. When I walked into the mall the first thing I noticed is how many people were there for the reopening and how much law enforcement was everywhere. I couldn't believe that this mall was originally located in the concourse area of the original World Trade Center before it was destroyed on September 11, 2001. As I was walking around the mall I was just so amazed and thinking about all the history that this mall has. It is the largest shopping mall in Manhattan. The reopened World Trade Center Mall is a double level mall which has boutiques, specialty stores, plus convenience retail. A short distance away is the 9/11 memorial, museum and observatory at 1 World Trade Center. This will no doubt be a huge tourist attraction. It's still so hard to believe that it has been 15 years since 9/11 terrorist attacks. Great job to everyone who made this new World Trade Center Mall possible. Below are some pictures of what it looked like.
